Borrello’s three TDs lead Hanover Park past Newton in NJS2G2 quarters – Football recap

Joey Borrello accounted for three touchdowns to lead second-seeded Hanover Park past seventh-seeded Newton 27-14 in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA/Xfinity North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 playoffs in East Hanover.
It was an evenly-matched first half as the sides traded two touchdowns apiece and went into halftime tied at 14. Hanover Park (8-1) started to oppose its will in the second half though as Joey Borello’s six-yard touchdown run gave it a 21-14 lead with 11 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
